DOVER, Del. – All 89 of Delaware’s Sports Lottery retailers and its three casinos now carry self-service sports betting kiosks, putting walk-up wagering on neighborhood store counters across the state.
What Delaware Rolled Out
In a statewide announcement on July 13, the Delaware Lottery said installation across every site wrapped June 26 without interrupting existing Sports Lottery service. Machines went into all three casinos, Delaware Park Casino, Bally’s Dover Casino Resort, and Harrington Raceway & Casino, along with the 89 retail lottery locations.
Scientific Games developed the machines, and Caesars Sportsbook supplies the odds and the betting menu. The betting menu reaches well past the single point spread a counter clerk once wrote by hand, now covering player props, same-game and multisport parlays, live in-game wagers, and bettor-set spreads.
“As sports betting continues to grow in popularity, these self-service kiosks meet players where they are in terms of fitting wagering into their day as well as their particular preferences for wagering,” Delaware Lottery Director Helene Keeley said.
How the Kiosks Work
The machines let a bettor build and print a ticket without a clerk, easing the counter workload during busy stretches. A feature called Bet Ahead lets players assemble a wager online, generate a six-digit code, then enter that code at a kiosk to review, pay for, and print the ticket. QR codes on printed tickets link to results and payout details.
Players must be 21 or older to use the machines. Delaware launched single-game sports betting in 2018 after the federal ban fell, and runs its sports lottery in partnership with Scientific Games. More on the state’s market sits on the Delaware page.
The Retail Bet
The move leans on physical locations at a moment when most wagering has shifted to phones. Delaware is placing the machines where foot traffic already exists, from casino floors to neighborhood stores that sell lottery tickets, part of the broader network of US gambling sites tracked here.
The Delaware Lottery says it has contributed roughly $6 billion to the state’s General Fund since operations began in 1975, a base the state is now widening one retail counter at a time.
