The Rest Of Elko County Supplied More Than Half The Gain

The board splits Elko County into two sublines. The rest of the county, outside Wendover, won $12,389,978, up 18.89% from $10,421,218, the second-largest percentage gain on the board’s area table behind only Sparks at 20.78%. Its $1,968,760 increase was 53.5% of the county’s $3,677,567 gain, from a market that produced 35.2% of the county’s win. Slot machines supplied about $1.8 million of it, and multi-denomination machines there rose 28.80% to $8.7 million.

Wendover, the larger market, took in $22,831,923, an increase of $1,708,807, or 8.09%, on the $21,123,116 it won a year earlier. Its gain came about evenly from slots, up 5.11% to $18.1 million, and table, counter and card games, up 21.19% to $4.7 million.

Wendover, Mesquite And The Carson Valley Also Beat The State

Mesquite, a Clark County subline on the board’s table, won $15,211,972 against $15,010,079 a year earlier, a 1.35% gain. Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden and the Douglas County markets away from South Lake Tahoe make up what the board calls the Carson Valley area, and its $12,177,139 was 6.61% higher.

The board’s “Other” category, which in its monthly revenue report groups Churchill, Humboldt, Lyon, Nye and White Pine counties with a balance-of-counties line, won $20,114,273, up 10.93%. Five of those six lines grew, led by Humboldt County’s 33.65% gain to $3.0 million, and only the balance-of-counties line fell, down 7.08%.

Clark County’s $10.4 Million Decline Kept The State Flat

Clark County, which accounts for 84.8% of the win from gambling in Nevada, fell 0.95% to $1,087,617,096. Every other line on the board’s area table grew: Elko County, Washoe County, South Lake Tahoe, the Carson Valley and the “Other” category together added $9.7 million, which did not cover Clark County’s $10,404,217 drop. Elko County’s $3.68 million gain alone was worth 0.29 percentage points of statewide growth.

Multi-Denomination Slots Drove The Slot Gain

Slot machines accounted for $29.5 million of the county’s win, up 10.04% on 6,399 machines at 30 locations, the board’s monthly revenue report shows. That works out to about $4,600 per machine for the month, or roughly $154 a day.

Multi-denomination machines carried the increase. They won $22.1 million, up 20.89%, or about $3.8 million more than a year earlier, which was more than the county’s entire slot gain of about $2.7 million. One-cent slots fell 17.31% to $4.8 million and one-dollar machines fell 16.28% to $2.1 million, a combined loss of about $1.4 million, while the remaining denominations together gained roughly $300,000.

The same split appeared statewide, where one-cent slots fell 21.44% and multi-denomination machines rose 7.57%. The report does not say whether the shift reflects player choice or casinos moving machines between categories.

The board’s table, counter and card games category, which also holds race and sports books, won $5.7 million in the county, up 20.91%. Blackjack, listed as Twenty One, won $2.9 million, up 26.95%, while statewide blackjack win fell 6.29%.

The Quarter Is Up 6.85%, But September Trailed July And August

Win is what casinos keep after paying winning wagers, the revenue measure regulators publish for gambling in the USA, so a gain reflects more money wagered, a larger share of it kept, or both.

In dollars, September’s $35,221,901 was 3.5% below August’s $36,505,408 and below July’s $36,817,909, according to the board’s earlier monthly releases. A year ago, September’s $31,544,334 had been 16.1% below August 2025’s $37,589,506, so part of the 11.66% gain comes from a soft comparison month.

Elko County’s year-over-year change was up 13.45% in July, down 2.88% in August and up 11.66% in September, which makes the three-month figure the steadier gauge.

The county won $108,545,218 from July 1 through Sept. 30, up 6.85% from $101,586,329, against a 1.67% gain statewide. On that measure Wendover (up 5.71%), the rest of the county (up 9.12%) and the “Other” category (up 8.21%) beat the state, while the Carson Valley (up 1.21%) and Mesquite (down 0.15%) trailed it.

The board said its win totals reflect the most recent data available and are subject to revision. Its last three monthly releases arrived 27 to 30 days after month’s end, which points to late November for October’s figures.
