Sports betting is regulated state by state. The Supreme Court struck down the federal ban (PASPA) in May 2018, which let each state legalize and regulate on its own terms. This is the part bettors most often misunderstand. FanDuel’s main reward currency is the bonus bet, and its terms are specific.

FanDuel does not use traditional promo codes for its welcome offer. You will sometimes see affiliate sites display a “code,” but it is a marketing or tracking label, not something you type in. The offer applies automatically once you register through a qualifying link, are of legal age, are located in a legal state and opt in. Each of FanDuel’s standout features is explained below. Most are either FanDuel inventions or things it does better than the field.

FanDuel pioneered and trademarked the Same Game Parlay, which lets you combine two or more selections from a single game, such as a spread, a total and player props, into one ticket at combined odds. The book clearly marks which legs are eligible, and the parlay builder adds qualifying selections without leaving the screen you are on.

SGP Plus is exclusive to FanDuel. It lets you take selections from other games and add them to a Same Game Parlay, effectively stacking multiple SGPs into one larger ticket for a bigger potential payout. As with any parlay, every leg must win.

FanDuel offers Live SGP and Live SGP Plus on NFL games that have already kicked off, so you can build a same-game parlay in real time during the action. This is something most competitors still do not offer.

YourWay lets you adjust lines and customize player props to get instant odds on numbers FanDuel does not otherwise post, including building alternate unders at a number you choose and combining them across games. It is aimed at bettors who want a specific line rather than the default one on the board.

Bet Protect gives injury protection on qualifying pre-live player props. If your player leaves a game with a first-quarter injury and does not return, you are refunded in bonus bets. A 2026 version, Bet Protect Plus, extends full-game injury protection to certain NBA player props for a small fee on your stake.

Cash Out lets you settle a wager early for a value FanDuel displays on your bet slip under Active Bets, on both pre-game and live bets, in full or in part. It is never guaranteed: it can be suspended at any moment, for example during injuries, pitching changes or between plays, and once you take it the decision is final and cannot be reversed. If you cash out a bonus-bet wager, you receive only the net winnings, never the bonus stake, and cash out may be unavailable on bets that used a profit boost.

Odds Boosts appear on an impromptu basis and raise the odds on selected markets for a higher potential payout. They show up in the Promotions area and apply to the boosted selection automatically.

A bet slip toggle that places your bet without re-confirming if the odds shift, useful for fast-moving live markets. Turn it off if you want to approve every line change before the bet is placed.

You can save bets you place often to reuse them quickly, and check your active bets directly from a game’s page without opening the bet slip, which is handy if you place a lot of wagers.

FanDuel has the deepest market menu of any U.S. book, often hundreds of options on a major game, organized into tabs by category. Beyond the major North American leagues it covers soccer, Aussie Rules, cricket, rugby league and union, darts, snooker, table tennis, handball, cycling, boxing, MMA and esports, with expanded Olympics coverage. FanDuel charges no fees on either side of the cashier, and all deposits are instant except wire transfer. A key account rule: deposited funds can only be used on the product they were added to, so Sportsbook money stays in the Sportsbook, though winnings can be used across Sportsbook and Fantasy. The minimum deposit is 10 dollars for most methods, with PayPal and Venmo sometimes as low as 1 dollar. As of March 2026 credit cards are not accepted on any product, including credit cards linked through PayPal, Venmo or Apple Pay, and some states such as Massachusetts already banned credit-card gambling deposits before that.

On the critical side, consumer review platforms such as Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau carry low average scores, which is typical for the category but worth noting. The most common complaints are delayed or missing bonus and promotion credits, accounts being locked or restricted pending verification, slow or unhelpful first-line support, and the practice, shared across the industry, of limiting customers who win consistently.
