Our Verdict on FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel is the most complete sportsbook in the United States for the majority of bettors. Its market depth, exclusive SGP Plus, Live SGP, YourWay pricing, simple 1x bonus playthrough and fee-free, fast cashier are genuinely best-in-class. The real drawbacks are structural: no loyalty program, no credit cards, no phone support, a casino in only five states, a tendency to limit winners, and the bonus and account complaints that show up in consumer reviews.

Our 4.6 out of 5 rating is a weighted average that follows our how we rate process, where odds quality carries the most weight for sportsbooks, followed by market depth, live betting, bonuses, payout speed and the platform itself. Here is how FanDuel Sportsbook scored in each category.

Who FanDuel Sportsbook Is Best For

FanDuel Sportsbook is best for recreational bettors, parlay players and live bettors who want the deepest market menu in the country, exclusive Same Game Parlay Plus, and a simple 1x bonus with a fast, fee-free cashier. Anyone who also wants casino play can link a single account to FanDuel Casino. It is a weaker fit for bettors who want a loyalty program, phone support or credit card deposits, and for sharp players, since the book is known to limit winners.

Welcome Offer
Bet $5, Get $350 (Rotates)

FanDuel’s welcome offer rotates, but recently new players who bet $5 over their first 7 days received $350 in bonus bets, alongside a No Sweat First Bet at other times. No promo code is needed and the bonus playthrough is an effective 1x. Must be 21+ (18 in select states) and in a legal state.

FanDuel’s welcome offer rotates over time and can vary by state. Recent versions include Bet 5 dollars for 7 days, get 350 dollars in bonus bets, a No Sweat First Bet that refunds a losing first bet in bonus bets up to a stated cap, and bet-and-win offers tied to specific events. No promo code is ever required for the welcome offer; you claim it by signing up through a qualifying link and opting in. The bigger picture for loyal customers is mixed, because FanDuel runs frequent boosts but has no points-based loyalty program.

Promotion Types Explained

FanDuel uses a consistent set of promotion structures, and the payout rules differ between them, so it pays to know which is which before you opt in.

Promo TypeHow It Pays
Bet and GetA fixed bonus in bonus bets for placing a qualifying wager, awarded win or lose
No SweatIf your qualifying bet loses, you are refunded up to a set amount in bonus bets or site credit; the recent token version gives one No Sweat token per day for ten days, max refund per token around 300 dollars
InsuranceA refund in bonus bets if a specific result occurs, such as exactly one losing leg in a parlay
Bet MatchA bonus equal to a percentage of your first cash wager, up to a stated cap; requires opting in before betting
Profit Boost and Odds BoostIncreases the odds or payout on a selected market; profit boost tokens are toggled on in the bet slip
Bet to win offersThe bonus is only awarded if your qualifying bet wins; the cash winnings are paid separately

Sportsbook Bonus Rules and Wagering Requirements

This is the part bettors most often misunderstand. FanDuel’s main reward currency is the bonus bet, and its terms are specific.

RuleDetail
PlaythroughEffective 1x. You stake the bonus bet once; if it wins, the winnings convert to withdrawable cash with no further rollover
Stake is not returnedOnly the winnings are paid to your wallet; the bonus bet stake itself is never returned
CreditingBonus bets typically appear within 72 hours of the qualifying activity
ExpirationBonus bets expire 7 days after they are credited unless stated otherwise; the bet slip lists them with the soonest expiry on top
SplittingYou do not have to use the full amount at once; a 50 dollar bonus bet can be split into smaller wagers, and the remaining balance stays until expiry
One per wagerYou cannot combine more than one bonus bet on a single wager, but you can use several bonus bets across one bet slip, and mix bonus with cash
Push and voidIf a bonus-bet wager pushes, the bonus bet is not returned; if it is voided, the bonus bet returns unless already expired
Excluded betsBonus bets generally cannot be used on round robins, sometimes exclude markets like point spreads, and usually cannot be applied to a selection already carrying an odds boost
Qualifying betsOnly bets placed with deposited cash or winnings qualify you for a promotion; bonus-funded bets do not
Site credit differenceWith site credit (bonus funds), a winning wager returns both the stake and the winnings, unlike a bonus bet

Promo Codes

FanDuel does not use traditional promo codes for its welcome offer. You will sometimes see affiliate sites display a “code,” but it is a marketing or tracking label, not something you type in. The offer applies automatically once you register through a qualifying link, are of legal age, are located in a legal state and opt in. If a specific promotion ever does require a code, it appears inside the Promotions tab in the app with its terms. Everything else is claimed by tapping Opt In on the promotion before you place the qualifying bet, since FanDuel cannot opt you in after the fact.

Special and Seasonal Promos

Beyond the welcome offer, FanDuel rotates event-driven promotions around major sports moments such as the Super Bowl, March Madness, the NBA and Stanley Cup playoffs, the World Cup and big boxing or UFC cards. These commonly take the form of bet-and-get offers, profit boosts on a featured game, no-sweat single-game tokens, and prebuilt or celebrity Same Game Parlays. The Promotions tab is the single source of truth, and most require a one-tap opt in.

Features

FanDuel Sportsbook Signature Features

Why FanDuel’s Bet Types Stand Out

Same Game Parlay Plus lets you combine legs across multiple games into one parlay, a feature no other U.S. book offers. Paired with YourWay custom lines and Live Same Game Parlay, FanDuel earns top marks for betting markets and bet types in our scoring.

Each of FanDuel’s standout features is explained below. Most are either FanDuel inventions or things it does better than the field.

Same Game Parlay

FanDuel pioneered and trademarked the Same Game Parlay, which lets you combine two or more selections from a single game, such as a spread, a total and player props, into one ticket at combined odds. The book clearly marks which legs are eligible, and the parlay builder adds qualifying selections without leaving the screen you are on.

Same Game Parlay Plus

SGP Plus is exclusive to FanDuel. It lets you take selections from other games and add them to a Same Game Parlay, effectively stacking multiple SGPs into one larger ticket for a bigger potential payout. As with any parlay, every leg must win.

Live Same Game Parlay

FanDuel offers Live SGP and Live SGP Plus on NFL games that have already kicked off, so you can build a same-game parlay in real time during the action. This is something most competitors still do not offer.

YourWay

YourWay lets you adjust lines and customize player props to get instant odds on numbers FanDuel does not otherwise post, including building alternate unders at a number you choose and combining them across games. It is aimed at bettors who want a specific line rather than the default one on the board.

Bet Protect

Bet Protect gives injury protection on qualifying pre-live player props. If your player leaves a game with a first-quarter injury and does not return, you are refunded in bonus bets. A 2026 version, Bet Protect Plus, extends full-game injury protection to certain NBA player props for a small fee on your stake.

Cash Out

Cash Out lets you settle a wager early for a value FanDuel displays on your bet slip under Active Bets, on both pre-game and live bets, in full or in part. It is never guaranteed: it can be suspended at any moment, for example during injuries, pitching changes or between plays, and once you take it the decision is final and cannot be reversed. If you cash out a bonus-bet wager, you receive only the net winnings, never the bonus stake, and cash out may be unavailable on bets that used a profit boost.

Odds Boosts

Odds Boosts appear on an impromptu basis and raise the odds on selected markets for a higher potential payout. They show up in the Promotions area and apply to the boosted selection automatically.

Always Accept Odds Movement

A bet slip toggle that places your bet without re-confirming if the odds shift, useful for fast-moving live markets. Turn it off if you want to approve every line change before the bet is placed.

Saved Bets and Quick View

You can save bets you place often to reuse them quickly, and check your active bets directly from a game’s page without opening the bet slip, which is handy if you place a lot of wagers.

Markets

Odds Quality Carries the Most Weight

In our sportsbook ratings, the price you get on every bet matters more than any bonus, so odds quality is weighted highest. FanDuel pairs the deepest market menu in the country with competitive pricing across major sports.

Daily Odds Boosts

FanDuel has the deepest market menu of any U.S. book, often hundreds of options on a major game, organized into tabs by category. Beyond the major North American leagues it covers soccer, Aussie Rules, cricket, rugby league and union, darts, snooker, table tennis, handball, cycling, boxing, MMA and esports, with expanded Olympics coverage. The house rules below are the FanDuel-specific settlement terms that most reviews omit.

SportFanDuel-Specific Markets and Rules
NFL and college footballTeasers sell -7 to -6 and buy +3 to +14; ten minutes of the fourth quarter must elapse for action; the ball carrier or receiver into the end zone is the touchdown scorer, not the passer
NBA and college basketballTeasers sell -5 to -4 and buy +3 to +14; distinctive First Basket, First Team Basket and Wire-to-Wire markets; abandoned games void after the five-minute mark unless already decided
MLBRun line, First 5 Innings, and listed-pitcher options (Action, One Specified Pitcher, Both Specified Pitchers) with no-action refunds; 4.5 and 5 inning rules for shortened games
NHLPuck line, period wagers, Double Result; games must reach 55 minutes; shootout winner credited one goal, but shootout goals do not count for player props
SoccerThree-way markets; bets settle on the 90-minute result plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalties unless stated; home team listed first
GolfOutright, Top 5/10/20, matchups; Dead Heat Rule reduces place payouts on ties; a starter who withdraws loses, a non-starter is void
TennisGame and set spreads; specific retirement rules void match-odds bets before the first set ends
Auto racingSettled on podium presentation regardless of later disqualification; F1 first-retirement and NASCAR head-to-head rules apply

Credit Cards

FanDuel charges no fees on either side of the cashier, and all deposits are instant except wire transfer. A key account rule: deposited funds can only be used on the product they were added to, so Sportsbook money stays in the Sportsbook, though winnings can be used across Sportsbook and Fantasy. The minimum deposit is 10 dollars for most methods, with PayPal and Venmo sometimes as low as 1 dollar. As of March 2026 credit cards are not accepted on any product, including credit cards linked through PayPal, Venmo or Apple Pay, and some states such as Massachusetts already banned credit-card gambling deposits before that.

Two rules shape every withdrawal. First, you can only withdraw to a method you have already deposited with; if you deposited with more than one, each becomes available. Second, every withdrawal is reviewed before it is sent, up to 24 hours normally and up to 48 on a first withdrawal, with first-time payouts requiring full identity verification including an ID upload. Minimums are commonly 1 dollar on electronic methods and around 15 dollars for a check, and maximums vary by method, with ACH reported around 20,000 dollars per transaction and limits often raised by contacting support. An active bonus can block a withdrawal, since bonus stakes are never withdrawable.

History

FanDuel Sportsbook Company History

FanDuel was founded on July 21, 2009, in Edinburgh, Scotland, as a daily fantasy sports company, pivoting from a news-prediction site called Hubdub. It grew quickly between 2013 and 2015 to become a daily fantasy leader alongside DraftKings. After the Supreme Court struck down the federal sports betting ban in May 2018, FanDuel was acquired by Paddy Power Betfair, which later renamed itself Flutter Entertainment, and it launched its first sportsbook in New Jersey in September 2018. It introduced the Same Game Parlay to the U.S. market and became one of the NFL’s official sports betting partners. In 2025 Flutter acquired the remaining stake in FanDuel from Boyd Gaming, taking full ownership in a deal that valued FanDuel at roughly 31 billion dollars. It is operated under the Betfair Interactive US entity and headquartered in New York City.

Reputation

FanDuel Sportsbook Reputation

Backed by Flutter Entertainment

FanDuel is operated by Betfair Interactive US and owned by Flutter Entertainment, one of the largest gaming companies in the world. It is licensed in every state where it operates, with regulator oversight, audited products and protected player funds.

FanDuel’s reputation is a mix of strong industry standing and the everyday consumer complaints common to large sportsbooks. On the positive side, it is the U.S. market-share leader, is licensed in every state where it operates, holds the relevant state gaming licenses, and has won industry honors including Sports Betting Operator of the Year. Its app is consistently among the highest rated on the Apple and Google stores, and its payouts are generally fast and reliable.

On the critical side, consumer review platforms such as Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau carry low average scores, which is typical for the category but worth noting. The most common complaints are delayed or missing bonus and promotion credits, accounts being locked or restricted pending verification, slow or unhelpful first-line support, and the practice, shared across the industry, of limiting customers who win consistently. As always, regulated status protects your funds and dispute rights, but you should read each promotion’s terms and keep records of qualifying bets.

Support

FanDuel Sportsbook Customer Support

Support runs through live chat, email and social media. Live chat routes you through a chatbot that triages your issue before connecting an agent, which is usually quick. The notable gap is the lack of phone support, which matters most for urgent account or payment problems.

Products

FanDuel Casino and Other Products

The sportsbook account also reaches FanDuel’s other products where legal. The casino, including live dealer blackjack, roulette and baccarat, is available in only five states: Michigan, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and its credit-based welcome bonus carries a simple 1x playthrough. FanDuel Racing (formerly TVG) handles horse racing with live streaming, and the original daily fantasy product reaches far more states than the sportsbook.

Verdict

FanDuel Sportsbook Final Verdict

FanDuel is the most complete sportsbook in the United States for the majority of bettors. Its market depth, exclusive SGP Plus, Live SGP, YourWay pricing, simple 1x bonus playthrough and fee-free, fast cashier are genuinely best-in-class. The real drawbacks are structural: no loyalty program, no credit cards, no phone support, a casino in only five states, a tendency to limit winners, and the bonus and account complaints that show up in consumer reviews.

For recreational bettors, parlay players and live bettors, those trade-offs are easy to accept. Always confirm the current welcome offer and your state’s status before signing up, read the promotion terms, and gamble responsibly. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, help is available at 1-800-GAMBLER.
