JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri’s 13 casinos won $165,074,533 in adjusted gross revenue in September, up 5.5% from $156,514,142 a year earlier, as slot machines gained 7.6% and table games fell 6.5%, the Missouri Gaming Commission reported.
Slot Machines Produced 87% Of Revenue
Slot machines won $143.6 million in September, up 7.6%, and table games won $21.4 million, down 6.5%, according to the commission’s market analysis for the month. Slots made up about 87% of the statewide total. The report is one of the monthly state filings tracked across USA gambling sites.
The commission put slot hold at 9.8%, meaning the casinos kept about 9.8 cents of each dollar wagered at the machines. Table win was 19.2% of the money patrons exchanged for chips.
The split moved sharply from August. The commission’s August market analysis showed slot revenue down 1.0% and table revenue down 17.7% from a year earlier. Slot revenue’s year-over-year change therefore improved by 8.6 percentage points in a month, while the table decline narrowed to 6.5% without turning positive.
Kansas City Slots Rose 11.0%, St. Louis 6.9%
The commission’s Kansas City market won $56.6 million, up 6.7%. Its slot revenue of $48.8 million rose 11.0%, while table revenue of $7.8 million fell 14.2%.
The St. Louis market won $83.5 million, up 5.5%. Slots rose 6.9% to $71.4 million and tables fell 2.1% to $12.0 million.
Tables lost ground in both metro markets, so slots carried the growth in each. Together the two markets produced $140.0 million, leaving about $25.0 million for the five casinos outside them.
Patrons And Spending Each Rose 2.7%
Admissions rose 3.0% to about 2.28 million, and patrons rose 2.7% to about 1.17 million, the market analysis shows. Win per patron rose 2.7% to $141.56. The statewide gain therefore split evenly between more visitors and more money from each one.
September Supplied Three-Quarters Of Fiscal-Year Growth
September revenue was below August’s $171.3 million, according to the commission’s revenue summary, but above the $156.5 million of September 2025. The same summary shows August was 3.5% below its year-earlier level.
Fiscal year-to-date revenue stands at $513,195,552, up 2.3% from $501,704,525. Subtracting September from both totals, July and August together rose only about 0.8%. September’s $8.6 million gain accounts for about three-quarters of the $11.5 million increase so far this fiscal year.
Education Proceeds Reached $31.2 Million
The revenue summary lists $31,199,087 in September gaming proceeds for education, up 5.5% from $29,581,173, and $3,466,565 for local governments, also up 5.5%. Education proceeds total $96,993,959 for the fiscal year, up 2.3%, and $8,881,975,359 since inception.
The total covers slot and table revenue at the 13 licensed casinos. Sports wagering, available through Missouri online sportsbooks since Dec. 1, 2025, is not part of it. The commission notes that all values in both reports are subject to change.
